The VN-Index on the HCM City Stock Exchange rose for the third day by 0.76 per cent to close at 448.61 points.
The rally began during the middle of the session, with 154 of the 269 listed stocks posting gains.
Tu Liem Urban Development (NTL) rose the highest, by VND3,000, to close at VND63,500; followed by Sao Mai Construction (ASM), up VND2,500 to VND56,500; Industrial Urban Development Co No 2(D2D), up VND2,200 to VND48,100; and Binh Thuan Hamico Mineral (KSA), up VND2,100 to VND45,600.

Several blue chips rallied, including Eximbank (EIB), Hoa Phat Group (HPG), PetroVietnam Finance (PVF) and Vincom (VIC).
About 28.6 million shares were traded during the session, for VND735.2 billion ($37.7 million) in value.
In Ha Noi, the HNX-Index rallied by 0.4 per cent to close at 111.77 points.
Volume remained low at 20.7 million shares, for a total turnover of VND400.3 billion ($20.5 million).
The market saw 15 listed shares matching their ceiling prices, including Hoa Cam Concrete (HCC), up VND2,800 to VND43,200; Song Da No 6.06 (SSS) and Saigon Plastic Packaging (SPP), up VND1,700 each to VND26,900 and VND26,500, respectively; and Manganese Mineral (MMC), up VND1,400 to VND21,400.
