Han bridge project

Nearly one year after the expansion of its administrative boundaries, Hai Duong city has been constantly upgraded and developed. A number of works in the locality are newly built to correspond to the stature of a grade-II city, including the restart of the project on building Han bridge – a major provincial-level work.

According to the design, Han bridge’s total length is 10.76 km, including 763m in length of the bridge itself, and the remaining part of the bridge passes Cam Nhuong ward, Thuong Dai commune, Hai Duong city and 7 communes of Nam Sach district. Its start point is connected to National Highway No. 5 and the end point is connected to National Highway No. 37 from km 78 +500. On the side of Hai Duong city, its cross-section of the road bed is 33m wide, including road surface, pavement and the median strip. On the side of Nam Sach district, the road bed is 12 meters wide, including work items such as road surface, curb and soil reinforcement. The total investment in Han bridge is estimated to be 721 billion VND in which the cost for the bridge section is estimated to be over 450 billion VND. The bridge is designed in the type of continuous beam structure made of prestressed reinforced concrete; its cross-section is 15m wide. It is expected that the construction of the bridge section will be carried out in 2009 and the site clearance will also be completed in the same year. And the construction of the road section will be carried out in 2010.

So far, the preparation of design and shop drawings, design and shop drawings for building underpass, barrier walls and design and shop drawings for construction and erection of prestressed reinforced concrete box beams, bridge abutments, etc has been handed over to experienced and responsible contractors.


Tasco Bridge Construction Joint Stock Company - TASCO Joint Stock Company was awarded the contract to implement the package No. 1: Abutments T4, T5, T6 and package No. 2: Abutments T10, T11 of the project.

It is expected that by the end of 2012, the entire project of Han bridge will be completed and put into use. This will be a stature and large-scale traffic works in terms of construction, opening a new chance for the development of urban space in Hai Duong city and connecting the city to Nam Sach district and Chi Linh district, facilitating the socio-economic development in the province.
